Our story and our mission

Discover the heart behind RICH Clinic. Learn about our commitment to accessible, comprehensive healthcare and our vision for a healthier community in Sacramento, California.

Our inspiration and unique approach

RICH Clinic was inspired by community members struggling to access basic primary care—delaying check-ups, ignoring chronic conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure, and ending up in emergency rooms because no affordable, welcoming clinic was available. What makes our primary care approach special is that it is truly comprehensive and barrier-free. Unlike traditional primary care offices that rush visits and refer patients elsewhere for everything beyond a basic exam, RICH Clinic integrates chronic disease management, preventive screenings, behavioral health, and enabling services (like pharmacy and transportation help) into every appointment. The biggest difference: patients don't just get a prescription and a "follow up in three months." They leave with a coordinated care plan, social barriers addressed, mental health support if needed, and a team that knows them by name—all on a sliding fee scale so cost is never a reason to stay away.

Beyond standard care: Our unique support services

At Regional Integrated Community Health (RICH Clinic), our unique support goes beyond basic medical care to actively help people feel better and stay healthy. We offer integrated same-day visits where patients can see a primary care provider, behavioral health counselor, and case manager together; a sliding fee scale that ensures no one is turned away for inability to pay; and enabling services including pharmacy assistance, transportation support, and insurance enrollment help. Additionally, we provide chronic disease self-management workshops, preventive health navigation with proactive outreach for overdue screenings, care coordination for specialty referrals, and language interpretation services. The result is that patients never feel alone or overwhelmed—they have a team that helps them afford medications, get to appointments, manage stress, and stay on track with prevention, turning healthcare from a scary, confusing burden into a reliable, supportive partnership.

Our dedicated team and shared values

At Regional Integrated Community Health (RICH Clinic), our team is made up of diverse, qualified licensed independent practitioners—including physicians, nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (PAs), and dentists—alongside registered nurses and allied health professionals such as dietitians, social workers, and pharmacists. Despite our different roles, we all share the same common goals and values when helping patients: access without barriers, care without fragmentation, and dignity without exception. We believe that no patient should be turned away due to cost, that physical health, mental health, and social needs must be addressed together in one setting, and that every person deserves to be treated with respect regardless of income, insurance, or language. As a clinic on the path to becoming an FQHC, we are united by the mission to serve as a true medical home—coordinating care across disciplines, removing obstacles to wellness, and empowering patients.

"After visiting RICH Clinic, I felt heard, respected, and hopeful. They truly care about my well-being and provide comprehensive support."
